Islam

Different views

Westerners look at Islam in various ways. Some Christians see Islam as a part of truth, for example the Catholic Church since the Second Vatican Council:
"The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, among them especially the Muslims, (...) who adore with us the one God" (Lumen Gentium).

Christians in the Qur’ān

The Qur’ān speaks about apostasy within Christianity:
"Can you expect that they believe you when a party of them heard the Word of Allāh, then twisted it after they understood it, and they know (the consequences of that? (Al- Baqarah 2:75).
Note: "Some of them" indicate that the apostasy within Judaism (and Christianity) does not apply to all Jews and Christians but only to some. It means that not all of them have apostatized.

Today's faithful Christians

Āl-i-’Imrān 3: 113-114
113 Not all of them are alike: Of the People of the Book are a portion that stand (For the right): They rehearse the Signs of Allāh all night long, and they prostrate themselves in adoration.
114 They believe in Allāh and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous.

Sufficient historical evidences confirm the presence of faithful followers of Jesus in all centuries and places. While these groups were often persecuted by the state churches, many historical records mention that Muslim believers have been protecting them throughout centuries.
